Just as a healthy classroom culture thrives on positive relationships between teacher and students, I believe that professional learning and consultation is most effective when both parties are fully committed and engaged. With this in mind, I am keen to develop partnerships with schools and educators and am open to creating a bespoke programme that caters to individual contexts.
I have developed a broad range of knowledge and skills over a teaching career which spans nearly 20 years and two continents. My subject area of expertise is English Language & Literature, but I have a passion for interdisciplinary teaching and learning and using real-world problems to engage and empower students. I can tailor any of the following topics to suit individual teachers’ or schools’ needs and would be happy to begin a conversation with you!
Concept-Based Curriculum and Instruction for the Thinking Classroom (2-day workshop)
If you are looking for an off-the-shelf curriculum and ready-made activities to use in your classroom… then I’m afraid this workshop is not for you. But if you want to engage your thinking and learn strategies to develop your students’ intellect, then I would be delighted to help facilitate your concept-based learning journey. This is Lynn Erickson’s and Lois Lanning’s signature 2-day workshop, which I can adapt to meet schools’ needs — in a physical or virtual setting.
